Android Versus iPhone what’s the Difference
Android versus iPhone was something that perplexed me for some time, as I really didn’t get what the differences were. Obviously I can’t cover all of the differences between these two powerhouses involved in the Smartphone space. But I can go over some the highlights. Both Google Android and Apples iOS are operating systems used mostly in their mobile phones.
Primarily what we’re talking about are the two major players, in the Mobile Phone Space. They are Google Android, and Apple iTunes. These are the brains behind these two mobile operating systems.
Google Android is a Linux-based operating system and is more like a PC. While Apples iOS is apple’s own code which they developed for use their iPhones. Basically they are two different styles of computer code.
Apple has taken some criticism for keeping their operating system closed to the code writing public. These are the people who often like to customize the functionality of their gadgets. Apple users rarely complain of getting viruses on their devices.
Apple’s claim to fame is that it is interface is considered by many to be more user friendly.
Google Android on the other hand is an open source operating system. This means that it’s open to customization by other code writers. Thus there can be theoretically millions of apps written to operate on android phones since anyone can use their code. Also Androids interface is considered to be generally more customizable.
Google Android has Google Maps, which is very popular as well as their Gmail which is also second to no one. Apple has the ability to run these programs as well through their iOS code.
Apple seems to keep tighter controls over the apps in their iTunes app store. This may be the reason you don’t see many of their iPhones downloading viruses with the apps from, their iTunes App Store.
These are the main differences between Google Android and Apple iPhones. For a more in-depth study just follow the links: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Open_source
So when it comes to the differences between the two phones ,the bottom line is, Google Android is more customizable, while Apple iPhone is considered to be more user friendly by it's users. The choice is up to you!
